Hello ,
There are many factors that contribute to roofing material costs and those factors are in a current state of flux. The normal variability, while never easy to predict, has become increasingly volatile as the ripple effects of the global Covid-19 pandemic continue to be felt.
As we pointed out previously, a sharp decline in demand for jet fuel production in the past year has led to a shortage of asphalt flux or resid, thus driving the price of asphaltic roadwork and roofing materials skyward. And with a possible shortage of raw materials, prices are rising at an unprecedented rate.
But our segment of the industry is not the only one affected by these uncertain times. Many types of building and roofing products including Lumber, Shingles, and Metal have been on the same unpredictable ride.

At United Asphalts, our goal is total transparency as it relates to market factors that dictate our pricing. We are well aware that material costs and availability are crucial to our dedicated distributors and contractors alike. We continue to strive to offer the best customer service and product availability during these uncertain times.
That being said, the combination of current factors are forcing us to raise prices effective on 4/1/21.
Please reach out to your local representative for market-specific pricing information.
We value your business and partnership.
Sincerely,
The United Asphalts Team
